Lent Day 20 | 40 to Life

Hello Redeemer family, I am Lou Markwith and I am the Outreach Liaison on the Vestry. Welcome back to our 40 to Life daily reflections. Today is the 20th day of Lent.

I am going to offer a prayer that is entitled “A Parish Prayer.” This prayer is based on the Prayer that was developed by the Redeemer Search Committee as we were searching for a new priest in the fall of 2016. The prayer moved me, personally, the first time it was read in unison at Redeemer on a church service. From that time, I have adapted the prayer as Redeemer has changed and progressed over time.

The prayer is structured in three parts:

The First is thanking God for his gifts to us, both corporately and individually.

The Second part is asking God to guide us we endeavor to do his Will.

The third is asking for God’s bless us and inspire us as we move through the world.

Let Us Pray!

A Parish Prayer

Almighty God, we give thanks for your gift of our Salvation. We thank you for your Love, your Mercy, your Grace, your Kindness, and your Compassion. We thank you for the loving community that is Redeemer. Your molding of friendship and fellowship in this place sustains us, daily. We ask for your steadfast guidance as we strive to do your Will. Give us open hearts and minds as we strengthen our ministries and to seek new ways to serve. Bless us with continued peace and unity as you inspire us to do the work of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In your Holy Name we pray. Amen

Have a Blessed Day!
